Wimmera CMA and the Wimmera Landcare community work in partnership to improve management of land, water and biodiversity and to improve the sustainability, productivity and profitability of agriculture. The contribution of Landcare and farmer groups in our region is recognised and celebrated. Our aim is to maximise opportunities for activities to be designed and led by groups. To achieve this, Wimmera CMA provides a workplace and work practices that embrace, reflect, respect and promote the diversity of our community and support inclusion and participation for all. This is supported by a workplace culture built on respect that is inclusive, adaptive and agile and supports increased participation by all members of our community in the protection of our natural environment.
Wimmera CMA offers flexible working arrangements and considers part-time and job-share applications for all positions. A steering group with representation from across the Wimmera Landcare community will help guide each stage of the Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator (RALF) program in line with funding objectives.
The purpose and scope of the position is defined by the Australian Government: the Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator (RALF) will act as a key contact point for farmers, industry and community groups, and will support agriculture-related project services in the region. The role is expected to engage with land managers, local and regional Landcare groups, farming systems or grower groups and related community organisations to support the community within their region to achieve Australian Government objectives for sustainable agriculture and natural resources outcomes.
The RALF role will focus predominantly on working with community members and groups that have a sustainable agriculture focus. The RALF will assist Wimmera CMA in all aspects relating to the regional Landcare community and sustainable agriculture including statutory and strategy, delivery and corporate services.
