Position Description

Brick Street Farms is looking for a full-time team member to join our crew. We are expanding to support a major grocer in Florida and this position will operate and manage the first container farm for this partnership. Working directly with company ownership we will train you in BSF proprietary operations.

IMPORTANT: This is a physical job and requires the capacity to execute highly physical tasks repetitively.

The preferred candidate will have applicable farming/growing experience; traditional soil farming, indoor or outdoor hydroponics, or aquaponics. You will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. You must have reliable transportation and be able to report daily to Lakeland, FL. We are looking for someone with an understanding of the physical demands of working in a farm operation. The role will directly manage all grow operations, mechanical support, indoor environment maintenance, equipment maintenance, and plant botany.

This position will report directly to company ownership. In addition, you must have highly professional presentation skills, can-do “whatever it takes” attitude, and be able to effectively and professionally communicate with customers and partners. Must be able and willing to maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to a strict dress code to meet food safety and professional attire requirements. In addition, this position will require you to be “on-call” as the local resource in case of equipment or farm malfunctions. Must be willing to respond to emergencies at all hours, as needed.


  • High customer service and account management capabilities
  • Ability to interact with the public in an educational capacity
  • Mix and maintain plant nutrient solutions
  • Maintain reservoir tank health and pH levels
  • Mix and maintain general farm solutions
  • Maintain extensive farm sanitation schedule and tasks
  • Hydroponics system line cleaning and maintenance
  • Algae control and eradication
  • Nutrient solution build up maintenance
  • Mechanical support of the farm container including: minor plumbing tasks, minor electrical and LED lighting tasks, and minor AC maintenance
  • Management of internal farm plant inventory
  • Fulfil all growing operations: seeding farm, transplant seedlings, harvesting for wholesale, package all harvested produce in retail packaging, deliver to major wholesaler

Basic Qualifications:

  • Farming/growing experience required, any type of growing experience considered
  • Must be able to stand and be on feet for 8+ hour shift
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repetitively
  • Must be able to be in a 64 degree temperature environment for entire shift
  • Must be able to reach overhead and reach low areas repetitively
  • Basic math required
  • Basic business acumen and professional appearance/attitude
  • Quick learner with ability to focus on tedious tasks
  • Self-motivated and punctual
  • Enjoy working with live plants and organic materials
  • Must be available the occasional weekend shift
