Position Description

This rare opportunity has become available to oversee all daily farming activities of Mulloon Creek Natural Farms using holistic management practices and biodynamics. It requires experience in all aspects of farm maintenance, livestock and pasture management and requires that you have the ability to instruct, supervise, train and manage a team.

The farm is located 40 minutes east of Canberra, ACT in a region best known for beef cattle production and sheep raising.

The properties sit on 5,800 acres and is both a poultry and cattle enterprise. This position would suit an applicant currently in a leadership position who is looking to broaden their experience in a hands-on role and who has a keen interest in regenerative land management, biodynamic farming practices in 100% organic pastures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement work programs and direct staff and contractors
  • Show exceptional hands-on livestock management skills
  • Deliver on objectives and demonstrate self-motivation
  • Display a high attention to detail
  • Always commit to the company’s strong Workplace Health & Safety program by ensuring the safety of all persons on the farms
  • Have good financial management skills including the ability to interpret financial reports.

Essential Criteria

  • 10 years previous leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to budget and analyse financial reports
  • Understanding of the highest standards of animal welfare
  • Strong Microsoft Office and communication skills
  • Must be hardworking, energetic and able to manage own time well
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven, ambitious and demonstrates initiative
