Position Description

Pāmu is recognised within New Zealand and internationally as standing for best practice and sustainability. We have a strong culture of safety and respect for the land, our people, and the animals under our care. We're a State-Owned-Enterprise with a nationwide portfolio of farms that produce milk, beef, lamb, wool, venison, deer velvet, wood and more. Pāmu strives to be a leader in New Zealand agriculture, carefully creating natural products of high quality.

About the Role:

If you thrive in a busy, progressive, complex environment, this Senior Business Manager role could be your next best step. Our Taupo complex, called Pastoral, is one of the largest contiguous dairy farms in New Zealand, and possibly in the Southern Hemisphere. It has 12,000 hectares with 8,500 hectares in dairy, and the balance in dry stock. It is made up of 19 farms (including organics, dry stock and sheep milk farms) - plus a machinery syndicate. Within that portfolio you'll find a hub of innovation and value-add initiatives.

In addition to managing the complex farming environment, we also have a variety of significant stakeholders that the Senior Business Manager manages, including milk processors, iwi, and Tramco, the organisation that owns the land we farm. Your relationship management and negotiation skills will be top notch. You'll be confident, resilient, and cool under pressure. You'll also be commercially astute and have large-scale financial management/responsibility.

This is a rare opportunity to put your enterprise management skills to good use in a gorgeous part of the country. Pāmu is a progressive farming organisation that is committed to environmental sustainability, innovation, and excellent animal / land management practices.
