We operate an R&D aquaponic farm in Brooklyn and are expanding with a larger commercial facility later in 2020. Our Software & Electronics team (“S&E”) develops tools to monitor, analyze, automate, and improve farm and business operations. We are seeking an experienced software developer to lead development of backend computing systems. Day-to-day work will include user discovery, system design, R&D, custom software development, system integration, testing, and deployment in a variety of languages and platforms.
We are looking for someone eager to develop strong bonds with diverse teams and users. Candidates must thrive working on blank page, highly interdisciplinary projects. Success in this role requires the maturity and ability to transform ambiguity into clarity and simple requirements into robust, working systems. This role will be delivering several significant projects to production each year along with a dozen or more small projects.
Compensation includes a salary commensurate with a seasoned software development professional, equity shares, health insurance & wellness benefits, up to 20 days PTO per year depending on years of employment, an extension of New York State’s paid family leave for up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and additional perks including lots of fresh, free salad.
